Accommodations

Siquirres Mountain Lodge offers chalets and deluxe rooms with private balconies overlooking the rainforest and gardens. Each room includes a queen-size bed, a sofa, a fridge with minibar, and a tea and coffee maker. The bathrooms feature waterfall showers, and all units are furnished with ceiling fans and new tile floors.

Breakfast at the lodge is prepared by a classically trained Belgian chef, using fresh fruit, homemade jams, artisan bread, and Belgian waffles. The on-site bar serves drinks, and guests can also enjoy outdoor dining on the front porch or in the picnic area. Room service and breakfast in the room are available, and nearby restaurant Apaches offers additional dining options (closed Tuesdays).

Recreation

The property has a year-round outdoor swimming pool fed by spring water, with sun loungers and a pool with a view. Guests can go horseback riding on the lodge's own horses, guided by the owners, or take guided night nature hikes arranged with a neighboring conservation organization. Other activities include bird watching, walking tours, and fishing in the nearby lake and stream.

The lodge provides family rooms with private bathrooms and sofabeds, and offers board games, puzzles, and a playground on the grounds. Pets are allowed with prior notice, and a large Dobermann walks freely on the property (guests can request it be kept inside). Children can enjoy horseback riding-which guests have called the highlight of their vacation-and the property has horses grazing on the slopes.

Nearby attractions include Parque Nacional Barbilla, Parque Central de Siquirres, and the starting point for white-water rafting with Exploradores Outdoors. The property is set on 27 acres of rainforest with three freshwater springs, and guests can reach the nearby lake for boat rides.
